Peruvian Chicken Stew

I decided to try my hand, literally, at making a video of one of our step-by-step recipes. Phone in one hand, stirring spoons in the other. It wasn’t the best approach, I suppose if I continue to do so, I’ll need to get a tripod.

I’d be happy to hear suggestions, thoughts, etc. on this. Would it be better to narrate rather than caption? Both? Something else? Skip the music?

  1. Hi Dan,

Love the video it’s a good recipe for a home cook like me. I liked everything about that video especially the music.
It was very nice to see you at the end.
I’ll put it on my FB if you don’t mind.

    Best to you and Henry.

    1. The song, “Pio Pio” is a Peruvian song thanking a “friend” for bringing the singer a small chicken, which she put in a pen, promising to turn it into dinner for the two of them soon…. It seemed appropriate.

  2. I liked the captions, found the movement sort of interesting, but please, please, please skip the music. It made the chicken pieces and the rest of the ingredients look like they were trying to dance.

    1. Ha ha! Well, we do like to boogie down in the kitchen…. Obviously, also, we had to speed up the video playback – otherwise it would have been more than an hour long video!
