chandonchardBodega Chandon Cuvée Réserve Varietal Chardonnay – beautiful light yellow color, clear rim, fine bubbles; fruit forward nose with ripe apple and a hint of vanilla; on the palate, dry, medium high acidity, medium body, apple skin and ripe apple, lemon pith, vanilla; long finish, slightly bitter with lemon pith most prominent. [Recommended]

cruzatrosadaCruzat Rosado Extra Brut – pale pink tinged with orange, clear rim, blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, fine bubbles; forward nose of apple and strawberry; on the palate, dry, medium high acidity, light body, clear notes of minerals, ripe apple, a mix of berries with strawberry most prominent; long finish leaning on the mineral character. [Recommended]

aliciachardViña Alicia Paso la Piedra Chardonnay 2014 – pale yellow, clear rim; fruit forward nose with melon, sweet apple, light herbal notes; on the palate, moderate acidity, light to medium body, dry, mineral, wet stone upfront, followed by a mid-palate of fruit and herbs, touch of residual sugar; long finish, all fruit. [Highly recommended]

malamadovZuccardi Malamado Viognier 2013 – deep gold color, holding to the rim; intense honeyed nose with ripe peach and apricot; on the palate, low to medium acidity, rich, very sweet, honeyed, lots of very ripe peach and apricot fruit, hint of peach pit bitterness lingering on the long finish. [Highly recommended]

masiMasi Passo Blanco Pinot Grigio-Torrontés 2015 – pale straw, nearly clear, with a clear rim; very minerally nose, with hints of apricot; on the palate, medium high acidity, light body, dry, again the mineral character dominates, with notes of underripe apricot and honeysuckle; carries over into the long finish. [Highly Recommended]

zuccardisyrahZuccardi Serie A Syrah 2012 – deep red purple, holding to the rim; fruit forward nose – blackberry, spruce and old leather; on the palate moderately high acidity upfront, medium body, dry, fruit forward, hint of earth, the same flavors as the aromas, with just a touch of oak in the background; medium length finish, all fruit. $14 [Recommended]

aliciacabViña Alicia Paso la Piedra Malbec 2012 – medium dark purple red, holding to rim; fruit forward nose with plums and violets; on the palate, soft acidity, light to medium body, dry, sweet tannins, lots of ripe plum fruit and notes of violets; medium finish, all fruit. [Recommended]

animalpnÁnimal “Natural Vineyards” Pinot Noir 2013 – medium purple red, holding to the rim; fruit forward nose of raspberries and strawberries, hint of new leather; on the palate, medium acidity, medium bodied, dry, soft, sweet tannins, lots of ripe raspberry and strawberry fruit, new leather, slightly hot (alcohol is 13.6%, which isn’t exceptionally high, but was noticeable), long finish, mostly fruit. [Recommended]

deceroDecero “Remolinos Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 – dark purple red, holding to the rim; warm spices and red fruit on the nose, hints of eucalyptus; on the palate, medium high acidity, medium body, dry, soft, sweet tannins, raspberry and strawberry fruit, notes of allspice and eucalyptus; medium length finish, fruit and spice. [Recommended]

marpampaMar & Pampa Pinot Noir 2014 – medium ruby red, holding to the rim; earthy, backed up by strawberry, raspberry, and spice on the nose; on the palate, medium high acidity, light bodied, dry, virtually no tannins, same flavor profile of earth, strawberry, raspberry and spice; medium finish with notes of sweet oak. This also is one of the few wines I’ve ever tried made in Buenos Aires province (then again, it’s one of the few wines made in Buenos Aires province). [Recommended]
