Until last minute I thought we were going to be away for a couple of days. Henry just finished up his semester at the university and we were looking at taking off from Sunday through… midweek, but something came up that he needed to stay in town.

Paul, I really would have loved to taste all eleven, but the setup of having to go in and out with each bowl of chili just made it too long and involved of a process. I managed two at a time the first two rounds, but by that time the line waiting to get in was looking like more than another half hour before I could get back in to try another couple, so I gave up and went and had brunch! I heard really good things about yours from a couple of the judges afterwards, so was disappointed not to have tried it in particular!

Oh well, maybe next time around 🙂 I agree that John Brister’s was really good–I liked the shredded meat vs. ground.
