It wasn’t khobz, at least not what I’ve had before, which is more like a thinner, larger pita. This was almost paper-thin and stark white – and lavash can be soft as well, it’s actually quite common to use it as a sandwich wrap.

I think that the bread we enjoy at Alhambra is more a khobz (iraqi or lebanese bread) than lavash. Khobz is also the name of the dome-shaped iron oven where this kind of very thin and delicious bread is cooked.

As I entered, I’ve noticed a photo from the late owner of the great lebanese restaurante Alhambra, who was at calle Inclán and was gone several years ago.
Soraya, his daughter, is in charge of the new Alhambra, that serves which I consider the best middle eastern food in B.A. The falafel was the best of my life, including famed falafels from Israel.
