I’d agree! I was really hoping to find a place that was offering something a little different from the usual Japanese spots, a real focus on traditional Okinawan cuisine, but other than a nod to it with one particular type of soba, they sort of missed the boat on that one. But mostly, it was just the poor attitude, service, and lack of interest. And even after almost 12 years here, I still don’t understand the number of times I’ve shown up at one or another sushi bar and been told there’s no fish available but salmon. I know it’s a local favorite, but the “there was nothing else available in the fish market” or “we didn’t get our delivery” when there are fish markets all over the city packed with a variety of fish, has gotten old.

It’s a place we’ve been thinking about trying since we spotted it while buying housewares in the area. Forewarned I guess!

Hey, it’s the internet, one never knows what to believe. But still, interesting to find out this is not the first time they’ve opened other locations. Hopefully they’ll have more success with them this time around!

Sorry for the bad info.

Anyway, I am pretty sure I’ve been at the Callao branch before 1975. So the article probably doesn’t tell the full story.
