Ignacio, I may be norteamericano by origin, but I live and work here and earn a salary in pesos, not dollars, so I don’t get to see that fancy black market exchange rate. And yes, for a bottle of water that costs them less than a peso wholesale, to charge 12 pesos in a casual place in the south part of San Telmo for lunch is expensive for many people (and I wasn’t whining or complaining, I was letting readers know about it, because it adds to the cost of a meal, like anything else), especially when a) a three-course lunch is only 35 pesos, which is a great deal, and b) other places nearby are charging around 8 pesos for the same. That’s the amount that I’d expect, and generally see, in fancy white tablecloth restaurants here in Recoleta for water – I specifically said I thought it was high priced for the type of place that it is, especially given that their other prices are so reasonable.
