This is a much more casual […]

The farmer’s are often not there, there’s just someone whom they sold produce to who’s reselling it, essentially adding a middleman profit. Sometimes it’s even just resellers who bought the stuff at the Mercado Central out by the airport and carted it into these markets.

I am sure you know them, the organic market on Saturday in San Fernando called Sabe La Tierra is really nice in the Spring and summer time, the winter it’s a little quiet. Indoor market, El Galpon, en Chacarita has improved a lot in the past 4 years, they have an organic vegetable garden growing in the abandon train fields and the market is really convenient, they sell coffee and food there, not like Union but its good. And the market in Dorrego y Cordoba, Punto Verde on Fridays and Saturdays is a good place to go to get water kefir, and great samples, with a table sit down on and relax. Bomplante is slacking , but their produce are super cheap and very good. You can even visit the farmers and help them work on their farms. Union Square is a sophisticated market by Argentina standards, but I had more fun in Argentina with their markets. They are more black market, Union square has too many restrictions, and i find this to be limiting although there is a reason for laws, and believe I respect and value those laws, but i find them to be limiting.
