Ain’t that the truth! Dan, I think you did the right thing. They seemed like very fussy, difficult people accustomed to being pampered with whatever they want. Reminds me of a few (a few dozen, really) customers I’ve had over the years in various wine shops. Sometimes I stuck with them, smiled a lot and they’d choose a wine and leave. Other times I’d get a gut feeling the second they walked in and suddenly remember that I needed to alphabetize the entire Bordeaux section in the basement.

The luxury of owning your own home or your own business is that you get to choose the people you want there. Maybe some people, like these, won’t ever understand. But that’s not your problem to solve.

Your tale reminds me of why I’d never be able to own a restaurant. It would quickly turn into a Sweeney Todd kind of menu.
