It’s a bit different from the sandwich of the same name from Bar BQ, the only other pulled pork we’ve found so far in BA. The meat at Pani doesn’t have the […]

Nico – I look forward to it. As I said in the post, I recommended your place – the biggest criticism was the wings, which were really small and the sauce wasn’t very spicy, but pretty much everything else we enjoyed.

Well, a “too sweet” bbq sauce isn’t really a surprise in this sugar-philic culinary scene – I don’t know why someone doesn’t just baste the ribs with dulce de leche and get it over with.

At the time, I lived a block away too. I met the owner and had a good BBQ conversation. But as for the food, I was so happy about their passion for bringing a product that could do well in the meat-heavy city of BA. But the end result at the time was more like a baseball “ground out” than a hit or a homerun. I love that they make their own sauce, something that is a must for a respectable USA BBQ joint. It’s just that the quality of the sauce was pretty low. Too sweet, diabetic headache inducing type of sweet. In the end, it meant that if I didn’t want to smoke ribs at home on my own, I’d have just Kansas as an option for tender ribs. I just hope in time the menu continues to change and evolve as well as the recipes.

Note, I’ve only eaten the wings (a nice change of pace) and the onion rings (not good).

I can only really comment on the ribs, not the other entree items.
