I don’t think iceberg lettuce is considered a negative here. Then again, I didn’t know it was in the U.S. – I grew up on the stuff and love it on a salad – especially when it’s really cold and has a great crunch to it. I’m not sure what you mean by canned ham – for that I think of the little deviled ham lunch cans or something. If you’re talking about the “lunch meat” style slices of ham, that’s ubiquitous here – you likely won’t find anything else in Argentina.

But that’s a good thing. Even the “cubierto” was great–don’t miss the seed bread; they make it in house. I commented on it to the waitress and an elderly senora shouted out from the back that she was taking two loaves home for “los nietos”, and that it could be easily frozen. Apparently all the sweets you see in the window are home made and available for take out. Great recommendation, Dan!

This restaurant seems amazing for both its food and the mere fact that it opened in BA. I’d be interested to learn more about the head chef and owners, and what their ideas and “vision” are.

Oh, the saying is “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.”
