I know, right? It’s notable that after the first season of No Reservations he stopped referring to himself in the introduction as a chef in his list of accomplishments, now it’s just “I love to eat….”

Still, I always got the sense that he never became a chef, but was always a wanna be observing, writing and pretending to be what he wasn’t. I saw him interviewed recently and disliked him at once. There was just an arrogant quality about him and his demeanor. Imagine, someone in the NY restaurant/food scene who is arrogant and egotistic.
