I lived in BsAs for 4 years from 1998 – 2001. The best Mexican place
at that time (and I’ve eaten there since) was Xalapa which is in
Palermo Viejo.

We had Mexican the other night and it was great because we miss it, but can’t compare to all the Mexican places I used to go to in Chicago.
