" Bandeja Paisa literally- “the platter of Paisa”, a person from the Antioquia region in Colombia, where the capital is" this is a wrong statement. Bandeja paisa is indeed from Antioquia, a state (province) in Colombia, however, the capital is NOT in Antioquia. The capital is Bogotá, and is located in a state (province) called Cundinamarca

Dan,

Antojitos passed with flying colors. He said it was very authentic and he and I especially liked the patacones. They were just like you described them and that is, according to my dad, the way they should be. We shared a "picadita" and a "Bandeja Paisa". I had my little two year old who ate "carne a la plancha" served with rice, and she ate most of it. I helped her with the rest.

Also the fresh juices were pretty good too (made from fruit) in this case we tried pineapple.

It's not so much that I think Gabo's food is disappointing as they're taking home cooking and just presenting it as if it was something more, and then, simply charging alot more for the presentation. If they were reinterpreting the dishes and making them more... haute cuisine, they could have something really interesting going on. But as it is, they're not producing anything of better quality than Antojito is, so why not go for the more casual atmosphere and price? We didn't, by the way, check out the desserts at Antojito, for all I know they're doing something similar or others that are interesting, we were just too full to even consdier them.
