You know, it's unfortunate, but I almost wouldn't have been surprised to find something like that... though one good thing, as it turns out, touristy as the town is below and the vast numbers of people coming through there, once you enter Machu Picchu itself, there are no services or facilities of any sort - no place to buy food or drink, no bathrooms, no souvenir shops... it's all in the town at the bottom of the mountain. They're actually pretty respectful of the site itself, it's just the process of getting to it...</description>
