I'll have to look for it, could be a fascinating read!

Siempre Verde was still open as of earlier this week when I walked by; I've also eaten there several times, as have a couple of vegetarian friends, and it's definitely one of our favorites.

Oh, forgot to say that vegetarianism has often been described as a heresy within christian societies- there is a great popular history of vegetarianism called The
Heretics Feast by Colin Spencer.

I usually go to the veggie place on Lavalle (at Suipacha? or Esmeralda) for lunch if I am in Microcentral. It's been there years. It's around 10 pesos for all you can eat. The food can be a bit bland but the home made bread ( you can buy to take away too) is great. Thanks for your posts on veggie food - I am hoping to go to Providencia soon. I recently visit the cafe in Once - Natural?? - but have to say I wasn't impressed. Do you know if the Chinese veggie in Chinatown is still open?
