[...] I spent the other day with a couple of new friends visiting from Oregon, who have been reading the blog for awhile. They wanted a bit of a foodie tour, so we spent time out at the Mercado del Progreso, wandered several neighborhoods sightseeing, and sampled some empanadas (turns out Mondays, alot of empanada shops are closed, note to self). The pond around the Rosedal was quiet, but pretty… [...]

I just received this from a new reader:

I have just run across your blog/webpage. I am a member of the Board of the Asociación Amigos del Mercado del Progreso de Caballito (a group of friends that support cultural and social activities in the Mercado) and I am very happy to see that you have entered a brief description of the Mercado. You might also want to alert your readers that there is much else going on there: Thursdays, tango dance classes; activities related with refugees (ACHNUR); free outdoor argentine films in the parking lot (under the stars cinema we call it) in the summer, etc. etc. We meet on almost every Monday evening at 20:30/21 hs in the Mercado itself in the Espacio de Encuentro, right in the middle of the market where the old photos of the Mercado are displayed.
